Designer’s tip: This isn’t a traditional bendi card, but a simple version where you gently fold the center scores, allowing the front strip to curve outward from the back two panels. So simple and effective!
Instructions:
- For the card: Cut 6½"x5" dark purple cardstock, place it horizontally, and score it 3¼" from the left end. Crease the score in a valley fold, then unfold it. Cut a Lilacs In Bloom vertical border paper to 6"x4¾", then cut it in half to make two 3"x4¾" pieces. Glue the papers centered on the panels.
- Cut 5¼"x3¾" dark purple cardstock and place it horizontally. Score it ½", 2⅝", and 4¾" from the left end. Place Extra Sticky tape along the end tabs, then crease all the scores in mountain folds, tucking the tabs under. Cut two 1⅞"x3½" Lilacs In Bloom purple dotted papers and glue one centered on each panel. Remove the tape backing from the tabs and, with the card flattened, attach the dotted panels to the card, ⅜" from the top and aligning the center folds.
- Cut 7½"x1½" dark purple cardstock. Score it ½" and 7" from the left end, then place Extra Sticky tape on the end tabs. Fold the tabs under and attach the strip to the flattened card, aligning the bottom edges. Cut 6"x1¼" corner design paper with the flowers at the left end, then glue it centered on the strip.
- Punch out the Lilacs In Bloom die-cut shown and stamp “sending smiles” on it with Jet Black ink. Glue it to the left dotted panel so it extends over the center fold.
- From the chipboard backing, remove the left angled lilac bloom, the small bloom sprig, and three leaves. Color the flowers and leaves with markers and let dry. Press the chipboard pieces onto the VersaMark™ ink pad, cover them with embossing powder, then tap off the excess. Heat the pieces to melt the powder. Glue the large blossom to the right dotted panel, extending over the center fold and glue a leaf overlapping the stem bottom. Glue the sprig and two leaves to the front strip as shown.
- Punch out the “happy birthday” tag die-cut. Insert a 4" length of purple crepe ribbon through the tag hole, then tie the ribbon ends together close to the tag top with thread. Glue the tag to the front strip as shown.
