Designer’s Tip: Use the Magic Stamp® and a plastic stencil to create a unique stamping block. I used the stamped images to build an oversized mat for a beautiful look! To get a really good image on the Magic Stamp, I stood on the Magic Stamp (wearing shoes) for added pressure—this technique is easier for me so I don’t put pressure on my back by using my hands.
Instructions:
- Use Emma’s Garden ivory/brown/teal/pink tiles paper as your background. Cut 10 3/4"x9 3/4" Emma’s Garden pink dots paper and ink the edges brown. Glue onto the background paper, centered 3/4" from the top.
- To make the all over swirl stamp: Place the foam pad or mouse pad on your floor and place the All Over Swirls Stencil centered on it (or place on your table if using your hands and very firm pressure). Use the heat gun to heat the surface of the Magic Stamp, then quickly place the heated side centered on top of the stencil/foam pad. Stand on top of the Magic Stamp for 20 seconds. Lift the Magic Stamp and stencil and peel off the stencil.
- Ink up your All Over Swirls stamp block with dark brown ink and stamp it onto Emma’s Garden ivory dots paper. If you are not happy with the image, you can wash off the block and repeat the heating process and create a new stamp. Otherwise, ink and stamp the image for a total of 6 times. Cut out each stamped image and glue them side-by-side onto ivory cardstock. Trim the outer edges evenly so you have an 8 5/8”x7 3/4" rectangle. Glue it centered on the pink dots paper on the page for the oversized mat.
- Mat your 7”x5” photo on Emma’s Garden ivory dots paper with 1/8” borders. Ink the edges brown. Mat again on teal patterned paper with 1/4” borders. Ink the edges and glue it centered on the stamped oversized mat, 1 1/2" from the bottom.
- Write or computer print name and year on the ivory/teal tag die-cut and glue it angled on the right side of the photo mat as shown. Write or computer print journaling on ivory dots paper and trim to a rectangle. Ink the edges brown. Mat on teal patterned paper with 1/8” borders. Ink the edges and glue centered near the bottom of the page. Foam tape the large floral die-cut overlapping the tag and oversized mat. Foam tape a small floral cluster die-cut on the upper left corner of the matted photo. Use 1” wide ivory grosgrain ribbon to tie a bow and Zot™ as shown.
