Designer's Tip: The front of this card is “broken” with die cut shapes bridging the gap between the upper and lower front pieces. I chose to let another paper show in the gap from the inside, but you could also place a second sentiment in that opening. Your choice! Use removable tape to secure the dies on the papers and cardstock before die cutting the borders and edges. They won’t shift during cutting and they’re perfectly centered on the edges! Refer to the photo to see which border die is used for each element on the page. And to make lining up and centering the dies on the card edges, I work on a cutting mat with a grid printed on it.

Instructions:
- For the card: Cut 9"x5" cardstock and place horizontally. Score vertically 2½" from the left end, then crease the score in a mountain fold. Place with the fold at the top and the short section face up. Cut 4⅞"x2⅜" Red Velvet tan striped paper and glue centered on the card’s upper front panel.
- Cut 5"x2" cardstock and 4⅞"x1⅞" Red Velvet tan striped paper, then glue the paper centered on the cardstock. Cut 1⅛"x4⅞" gold pearl sheet, then place the border die shown in the photo across it with the center point ⅛" from the lower edge. Secure with removable tape, then follow the manufacturer’s directions to die cut the sheet.
- Remove the backing from the upper portion of the die cut gold sheet and place along the upper edge of the paper on the front. Place the lower portion along the lower edge of the separate front piece cut in step 2.
- Place the border die shown on 6"x3¼" Red Velvet red tapestry paper near one long edge and die cut that edge. Turn the die around and position it opposite from the first cut, centering the die along the edge. Secure with tape and die cut the paper.
- Mat the red tapestry shape on cardstock with 1/16" borders. Using the border die shown in the photo to cut the dotted shape, repeating the process as for the red tapestry paper and creating a 2¼"x5⅜" shape. Glue centered on the tapestry paper. Repeat with a third border die on gold pearl sheet, creating a 1⅝"x4" shape. Remove the backing and place as shown.
- Die cut a 1¾"x1⅛" label from Red Velvet ivory tapestry paper and stamp “peace on earth” in the center. Foam tape to the center of the die cut shapes. Place the lower front created in step 2 on the card, aligning the lower edges.
- Foam tape the ends of the die cut shape to the upper and lower sections of the card front. Make a 4-loop thread bow and tie with a 6" thread. Glue the bow and place nailheads as shown.
- For the inside: Cut 4⅞"x2¾" Red Velvet floral paper and glue centered on the inside. Cut 4⅞"x¼" gold sheet and place along the upper edge of the floral paper. Cut 4⅞"x⅞" gold sheet and use the border die shown to cut one long edge, centering the die on the edge. Place along the lower edge of the floral paper.
- Stamp the tree border on the inside above the paper and a matching corner in each lower card corner as shown. Die cut a 2½"x1½" label from Red Velvet green textured paper and stamp “Merry Christmas” on it. Foam tape the label so it’s hidden by the front when the card is closed. Place a nailhead on each label end.
