Designer's Tip: The acetate used in this card is first covered with double-stick tape, then embossed. Mica powder is dusted across the sticky surface and brushed with a dry paintbrush until no powder can be removed. I then spray a fixative (available in art sections of craft stores) over the powder to make sure it won’t come off in the recipient’s hands when handling the card. You can use the acetate face up as I did for the image on the front or face down as for the inside image. (Tip: for getting all the excess powder off your work surface, lightly dust it with a Swiffer® hand duster—it works great for glitter, too!)

- 6" wide Transparent Double-Sided tape (link)
- Specialist Acrylic glue (link)

- 5"x6½" white card & envelope (link)
Instructions:
- For the card front: Turn the card with the fold on the left. Cut 4⅞"x6⅜" Pretty Posies blue diamonds paper. Wrap a 6" ribbon across it 2" from the bottom and glue the ends to the back. Glue the paper centered on the front.
- Cut 4½"x4½" acetate and cover one side with the 6" double-sided tape, trimming the excess. Place the acetate in the embossing folder, centered over the snowflake with the shiny side up, and close the folder. Follow the manufacturer’s directions to emboss the acetate, then remove it from the folder.
- Peel the backing off the tape, then use the paintbrush to dust both mica powders over the entire design until completely covered. Brush off any excess powder, then spray the fixative over the panel and let dry.
- Trim the snowflake panel to 4⅛"x4⅛" and round the corners with the punch. Mat it mica side up on white cardstock with ⅛" wide borders, then on teal cardstock with 1/16" wide borders. Foam tape to the upper front, slipping it under the ribbon.
- Place the “happy holidays” double-stick Dazzles™ on white cardstock, then dust both mica powders over the sticky letters. Trim to 3¾"x¾" and mat on aqua cardstock with 1/16" borders. Mat again on teal cardstock with ⅛" borders, then glue centered below the snowflake.
- Make a 4-loop bow with ribbon and tie the center with thread. Glue to the first ribbon, 1¼" from the left edge, then glue the plastic snowflake to the bow center.
- For the inside: Cut 4¾"x5¾" Pretty Posies blue floral paper and glue to the inside, ⅛" from the top. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to create another pearlized acetate snowflake and trim to 4⅛"x4⅛". Mat on white cardstock, shiny side up, with ⅛" wide borders.
- Wrap teal ribbon across the lower left corner, then bring the ends up to the upper right corner and knot them on the front. Glue the panel centered near the top of the blue paper. Emboss “let it snow” on teal cardstock, then trim to 4¼"x1⅛". Mat on white cardstock with 1/16" borders, then foam tape it centered below the snowflake.
