Designer's Tip: It’s fun to combine elements for unique cards! In this case, I combined the die-cuts from the Artful Card Kit with Dazzles™ birds and double-stick Dazzles™. To back the bird Dazzles™ with paper, just place the sticker on the paper, then cut along the edges. To cover the double-stick Dazzles™ with glitter, place the words on the card, cover with glitter, then rub it in place with your fingers. Tap off the excess, then lightly rub a Swiffer® duster over the top to remove all the excess glitter (That handy tool takes off ALL the excess glitter—without removing too much, of course!)
Supplies:
- Merry & Bright Artful Card Kit (link)
- Cardstocks: white, red, green (link)
- Winter Birds Dazzles™ (link)
- Double-Stick Christmas Greetings Dazzles™ (link)
- Gold Jewel Dazzles™ (link)
- Crystal Clear Sparkle pen (link)
- Forest Green Silk Micro-Fine glitter (link)
- Swiffer™ hand duster
- ¼" wide double-stick tape (link)
- Foam tape (link)
- Adhesive (link)
- 5"x6½" white card & envelope (link)
Instructions:
- For the card front: Turn the card with the fold at the top. Cut 6⅜"x4⅞" red cardstock and glue centered on the front. Cut 5"x4" Merry & Bright green paper and mat on white cardstock with 1/16" borders. Mat again on green cardstock with ⅛" borders, then glue to the front, ¼" from the right edge.
- Punch out the 4⅛" Merry & Bright blue circular label die-cut, keeping the center intact, and remove the nibs. Glue to the green paper along the left edge. Place “merry Christmas” double-stick Dazzles™ on the label, positioned as shown. Cover with glitter and rub it into the sticky letters firmly. Tap off the excess, then “dust” with the duster to remove all the glitter from around the letters.
- Place the three bird Dazzles™ shown on Merry & Bright red paper and cut along the edges. Glue to the front as shown. Punch out the striped “washi” tape and green banner die-cuts and remove the nibs. Cut the tape to 1½" long and the banner to 1¾" long, then glue to the left edge as shown. Punch out a circular snowflake die-cut, remove the nibs, and glue extending from under the washi tape die-cut.
- Back two small poinsettia Dazzles™ with red cardstock and the leaves with green cardstock. Back the leaves of two holly sprig Dazzles™ with green cardstock and the berries with red cardstock. Glue a sprig and foam tape a poinsettia over the tape and banner die-cuts as shown.
- Punch out the 2¼" poinsettia and 1½" snowflake die-cuts and remove the nibs. Glue the snowflake and the poinsettia and holly Dazzles™ from step 4 in the upper right corner and foam tape the large poinsettia die-cut on top as shown. Punch out two small leaf die-cuts, remove the nibs, and glue at the lower right under the bird’s feet. Cover all the birds with the sparkle ink and place jewel Dazzles™ as shown.
- For the inside: Cut 6½"x2½" Merry & Bright blue snowflakes paper. Place double-stick tape across the paper ⅛" from the lower edge and a piece ⅜" from the top edge. Cover both with glitter, rub in place, and dust off the excess. Glue the paper to the inside, 1¼" from the bottom.
- Cut out the “spread Christmas cheer” tag. Punch out the Merry & Bright die-cuts shown and remove the nibs. Glue the tag and a small blue flower die-cut to the inside and foam tape the large flower cluster die-cut as shown.
- Back the two bird Dazzles™ shown with Merry & Bright red paper, cover with sparkle ink, then glue the lower bird and foam tape the upper bird in position. Place jewel Dazzles™ as shown.
