Designer’s Tip: Unlike the Shimmer Sheetz, adhesive pearl sheets, and mirror sheets, I found that these 12"x12" white pearl sheets are able to be cut through just like regular cardstock without any extra layers in your die-cutting machine. I got the ice skates to point in opposing directions by embossing one (the one pointing to the right) on the back of the acetate.
Instructions:
- Card front: Place your card with the fold on the top. Cut your card to a 5" square. Cover with Christmas Cheer greetings paper. Cut a 4 1/4" square of Christmas Cheer black chalkboard paper and glue to center. Die cut a frame out of the 12" x 12" white pearl sheets using the cutting die. Glue onto black chalkboard paper and cut out the inner shape. Cut off any excess around the edges. Cut a 4 1/4" square of Heat Resistant Acetate. Rinse under water and pat dry with paper towels (don't rub). Stamp "Think Snow" with VersaMark™ and emboss the lower ice skate, and various snowflakes with Super Fine White embossing powder. Turn the acetate piece over and stamp and emboss the top ice skate. Flip over to the front. Place long narrow pieces of Ultra Clear Tape around the 4 sides of the acetate and place the frame onto it, pressing to adhere. Cut long narrow (about 1/8" wide) strips of foam tape and place along the 4 sides of the back of the framed acetate. Make sure all the strips are touching so there are no gaps where glitter could fall through. Fill in any gaps with more pieces of foam tape. Using the Encrusted Jewels kit, pour some fragments and glitter in a small pile (about 1/2 teaspoon) onto the center of the black chalkboard square on the front of the card. Carefully place the foam-taped frame centered on the card, trapping the fragments inside. If any fragments get stuck, tap the card on a table to loosen them. Use Zips™ to glue silver metallic ribbon diagonally across the top right and bottom left corners, trimming excess. Zot™ a silver bow at the top right as shown.
- Card inside: Cut a 4 3/4" square of Christmas Cheer greetings paper and glue to the center. Cut a Christmas Cheer black chalkboard paper with the frame cutting die. Use the inner black shape. Stamp and emboss "Snow" as before, three times as shown. Stamp and emboss the surrounding snowflakes. Sprinkle some glitter, fragments and embossing enamel on the bottom of the shape. Carefully heat from below with a heat gun until all is melted. It shouldn't take more than a minute or two. Once cool, mat the piece on white pearl paper and glue to the center. Die cut a small flourish from white pearl and glue it at the top as shown.
