Designer’s Tip: Die cutting and embossing the same piece of cardstock is a 2-step process that is made easier by using a Texturz Silicone Rubber Embossing Mat. Stencil tape is useful in keeping the die in place on the cardstock when running through the machine twice.
Instructions:
- Die Cutting: Follow your die cutting machine’s manufacturer instructions for die cutting Softly Falling Snow from a 5 3/4” square of black cardstock. Embossing: Use stencil tape to secure the cardstock to the stencil. Run through your machine again to emboss the die cut square by sandwiching the cardstock between the embossing mat and the Softly Falling Snow cutting die and run through the die cutting machine, shimming as necessary to get detailed embossing.
- Remove the die-cut snowflake circle from the square center and set aside for Step 4. Use the surface of the metallic silver ink pad to apply silver ink to the cardstock surface. Back the circular cut-out in the square center with white cardstock, and then mat the entire square with Robin’s Red red tile paper, leaving 1/16” borders. Stamp “Merry Christmas” and small snowflakes in black on the white cardstock circle. Embellish stamped snowflakes with Silver Jewel Border Dazzles™ and the die-cut snowflakes with White Jewel Dazzles™.
- Fold 6”x12” black cardstock in half to create a 6” square card and place with the fold at the top. Glue the matted square to the card center. Place Black Jewel Border Dazzles™ around the edges of the embossed square. Zot™ three small white jeweled flowers to the lower left side of the circle. Use white/black swirl ribbon to make a bow and Zot™ to extend from under the top of the flowers as shown.
- Inside: Ink the edges of 5 1/2” square of white cardstock and glue to the card center. Place a length of Black Jewel Border Dazzles™ across the card center. Mat a 3” square of Robin’s Red red tile paper with black cardstock, leaving 1/8” borders. Back the reserved snowflake die-cut circle with white cardstock. Turn your matted square on point and glue the circle to the square center. Place a White Jewel Dazzles™ on the snowflake center. Glue the rotated square to the card center as shown.
